"Celeste and Jesse" is a film with both saccharine and heartbreaking moments that hit close to home, as well as amusing supporting characters and moments that actually get funnier on repeat viewing.

It's also cut to bare bones in its length, leaving more to be desired, and a little unbalanced between painfully realistic and broadly comedic. It's unsatisfying but refreshing, competently shot and worth a look.
