Review of Catfish (2010) by Adam E — 05 May 2011
Is it a real documentary or faked is the question most people ask about this. To be honest it does not matter as either way its an amazing piece of cinema. The general feeling of uneasyness that is built up while trying to piece together who Nev is talking to is done excellently.
When the third act kicks in and we actually find out what is going on it makes it even more interesting but in a more caring way, trying to see the motivation behind the events we have just watched transpire.
This is the type of film you cannot say to much about as it spoils the thrill of finding out what happens yourself. No matter what you think of its authentic nature its still a blooming good film to watch and like a great detective story you piece it together.
This messes with you and sends you emotionally zigging and zagging till the very end. Loads of fun.
