Review of Catch Me If You Can (2002) by Bradley W — 18 Dec 2012
Catch Me if You Can is a smart and incredibly fun thriller, and is possibly one of Steven Spielbergs best films of his great career. Steven Spielberg has always been great, but I truly consider Catch Me If You Can a masterpiece for its incredibly great story, great cast, and its smart characters.
Leonardo DiCaprio is my favorite actor of the modern age of film, and here he proves that his talents reach beyond his usual films and that he is just such a sympathetic and likable actor. Tom Hanks is a legendary actor, and here he once again proves that he and Spielberg can make one great piece of film making.
The story goes through its twists and turns and I truly was loving every minute of it, we are set in this mans shoes and are set on an adventure of lies and thrills, and a film with incredibly likable characters.
Frank Abagnale Jr. is not a bad kid, in fact he is a very good kid but uses his skills for illegal purposes, and it sets us into one of those stories that Spielberg crafts so well. This film is based on his true life and it makes this film very thrilling and incredibly tenseful in some scenes.
Spielberg gives this film a special heart to it that reached my taste in film and really showed me that he still is a genius filmmaker. Catch Me if You Can is a funny, exciting and smart film that is one of those Spielberg films I am proud to call a perfect film.
