Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Tim H — 13 Jun 2007
An absolute must see! Overshadowed by M.A.S.H at the time. But Nichols does an amazing adaptation, with great photography, cinematography, cast and crew (nobody makes films anymore with a whole squadron of aircraft!) to produce one of the last great movies of the 20th century.
It could not have been easy to portray a war, which was seen as a 'just' war, with as much confusion, contradiction, humility and humour that the book has to offer.
