Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Jeff B — 23 Jun 2007
Hilarious movie, the whole cast was great. I haven't read the book and didn't really know much about it before seeing the film, so I liked some of the surprises throughout. Alan Arkin was great, though I think Orson Welles was probably my favorite character, I wish he was in it more, he was so hilarious.
I was a little disappointed that the last half hour sort of turned into a drama, it just got a little too weird for me, I would have preferred if stayed with its comedic status. It was still great, but Voight's character sort of took over toward the end and that sort of bugged me.
Anyway, excellent ensemble and there were a lot of great hysterical moments.
