Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Dave B — 20 Apr 2008
Heartbreaking comedy, certainly up there with the best wartime satire, MASH, etc... A sprawling plot that somehow works, Mike Nichols is definitely one of the best in the business at the adaptation. A phenomenal cast.
An oddly beautiful look at the Mediterranean, but with a familiar Fellini-ish tone to the humor.
