Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Lynda M — 28 Mar 2009
Nichols style more noticable in this film than most. Arkin is oustanding in a dark, black comedy, which does not bring many laughs. The message is clear leaving a bad taste in the mouth in many ways, the hypocracy and imorrality of war.
I enjoyed it in several levels but never felt closely involved, perhaps the novel itself is closer to the heart.
