Review of Cat People (1982) by Larry W — 07 Jan 2013
Frequent Scorsese screenwriter of yesteryear Paul Shrader remakes Val Newton's Cat People and places Nastassja Kinski and Malcolm McDowell as weirdo incest cat brother and sister. Some decent scenes and one cool cat transformation in bed really makes this more than just a little average.
McDowell is normally good in even the worst movies, except for Halloween 2. We got Johnny Heard and Eddie Begley Jr in supporting roles. We also have Bowie doing the theme, which wound up being awesomely used in Inglorious Basterds years later.
Not even a werewolf movie per se but way better than Sleepwalkers.
