Review of Cat People (1942) by Jordan T — 08 Mar 2011
Impressive debut film for producer Val Lewton and director Jacques Tourneur (Out of the Past). A sensual tale of a woman who fears she may transform into a panther at a moment's notice, Irena Dubrovna is very good in the title role.
The rest of the cast is stiff, and the movie plods around. However, it features two terrific sequences that became huge influences on horror films to come.
