Review of Cat People (1942) by The Critic ( — 26 Oct 2012
This movie has a terrible title but it is actually a genuinely great movie. The best horror film of the forties and it can be genuinely freightening. This film decides to focus far more on people than monsters and its themes of jealousy and supressed desire are brilliantly brought to life by the director who went on to become a true master.
This really is a great film for halloween.
