Review of Cat People (1942) by Steve W — 01 Nov 2013
Cat People is a psychological horror film from the mind of producer Val Lewton. Using a less is more approach, its bare bones film-making on a low budget. This enhances some of the horror aspects, especially when you cannot see the terror lurking in the dark.
At other times, it sort of hinders it. (the scene where they throw a stuffed animal at the Doctor) Overall its simple and basic psychological thrills with some good looking actresses, but it could have had a better climax.
