On one hand, the emphasis on character and excellent dialogue make "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" one of those "my God, I wish they still made 'em like that" films. On the other hand, I find it very sinister when homosexuality is whitewashed out of art for commercial purposes, as it was here.
So I'm torn.
