Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Mereie D — 27 Mar 2011
Williams isn't known for subtlety, but some of the writing here is really rough. (The crutch is a metaphor for a crutch? A character just declares that they've "become hard and cruel" rather than demonstrating this in any way?) But this is still entertaining if not realistic enough to seem compelling.
The running joke about how awful Mae and her kids are never gets less funny, and finding the not-so-famous Madeleine Sherwood was a fantastic bit of casting.
