Review of Casualties of War (1989) by Per E — 08 Mar 2009
This small scope Vietnam film is a forceful and chilling portrayal of the ugliness that arises from a war with so little purpose. De Palma's signature stylish direction is oddly well suited to a film like this, and his excellent casting choices make the characters come to life so naturally, Fox and Penn's work looks almost too easy.
