Review of Cast Away (2000) by Debanjan C — 04 Jun 2012
Not only is this one of the best disaster movies, but it is a very, very fine love story. Tom Hanks stars as a man who is the sole survivor of a plane crash and finds himself washed ashore on a deserted island, many miles away from civilization.
Years pass by and his only companion is a volleyball, named "Wilson". The quality of acting is magnificent. Probably among his top 5 works. His conversations with "Wilson" are truly exceptional and even when he loses him the emotion gets to the audience aswell.
A very, very fine movie.
