Review of Cast Away (2000) by Bradley W — 25 Aug 2012
Cast Away is a movie that really show that the slow and steady wins the race. Not only is it a smart and beautiful film, its a movie about loneliness and survival. I love seeing this man trying to live and creates a friendship with a volleyball, which I believe is a very great example of how this man is trying to keep his mind.
Tom Hanks gives one of the best performances I can think of in recent memory, and I truly believe he hasn't been given the recognition he deserves for this perfomance. Robert Zemeckis brilliantly directs this film and it shows that his collaborations with Hanks are really fantastic.
This is truly a movie that has a mystery and beauty behind it, and you must respect that what it does is truly remarkable filmmaking.
