Review of Casshern (2004) by David D — 21 Oct 2007
A road trip from the City of Lost Children to Rintaro's Metropolis on the Matrix expressway, past the Schindler's List foothills, through Sky Captain forest, and around Bladerunner bay to the Speedracer saloon.
This movie is obviously a bit of a pastiche, and has an interesting layered visual style. It's a little long, and the story doesn't bear a lot of scrutiny, but it's pretty kinetic and fascinating.
