Review of Casshern (2004) by Betty W — 04 Jan 2008
If you are a big fan of cinematography and great visals, then chieck this odd movie out.
Visuals that I once thought could only exist plausibly in the world of animation were brought to life...
The story was all over the place and brought an aspec of what a lot of animes do. They make up decisions and actions that the characters carry out without explaining why they did it or how they were able to. Which kinda bothered me.
Like how does a team of bastard experiments find an old castle that comes out of the mist and is filled with millions of robots?
And what in the crap was that lightning rod alien thing that came from the sky and brought them to life?
And why was the lead character back from the dead in the first place?
Besides unanswered questions, the movie is quite brilliant and I was amazed by the director constantly fooling me into thinking something else. All of the scenes/shots are flattering and fascinating to look at even if the story bores you after a while.
