Review of Cassandra's Dream (2007) by Candice A — 09 Nov 2009
Does money trump morality? The two brothers in this film Ian(Ewan McGregor) and Terry (Colin Farrell) are confronted with a proposition from there wealthy uncle Howard (Tom Wilkinson). Ian who has longed for the finer things in life views this as his chance for a new life.
Terry has run up big debts in a high stakes poker game. Terry fights Ian on the proposition but eventually succumbs. In large part to his personal demons of alcholism and gambling addiction. I think this is Farrell's most raw and best performance.
Woody Allen directs this film about fate, greed and consequence.
