Review of Cassandra's Dream (2007) by Chris K — 14 Aug 2008
Woody Allen has been going through a change recently. Gone is the screwball ad zany humor, gone is the jazz in the background, gone is Manhattan; in comes dreary, gray London, classical music (or Philip Glass in this case) and strange stories of deceit, murder and other darker aspects of human beings.
Although Cassandra.. begins great, towards the end it ceases to provoke my curiosity, something just doesn't hold together even though everything on the screen looks good. I have no alternative but the ending was a real disappointment for me.
Still, Allen is one of the best...
