Review of Cassandra's Dream (2007) by Paul G — 29 Mar 2009
Pretty good Woody Allen - nowhere near as bad as critics are saying (what do they know, right?). Two brothers, colin farrell and Ewen McGregor are forced into murder to rid them both of their financial worries, and then suffer the paranoia of committing murder and then the consequences of that.
Very Hitchcockian in style, with a moody score and some decent acting. One could see the film as an accompaniment of Allen's earlier Crimes and Misdemeanours, in which murder is treated as a means to an end, but without the paranoia that afflicts the protagonists in this film.
Give it a go - it's good! Honest!
