One of a kind movie that is hard to put into a gerne. if I have to try... it's sort of a male, British, slightly depressed, less colourful version of Amelie. Overall, it is an interesting, enjoyable film.

It probably could have been easily trimmed 10 mins away. For example, the whole football game scene does not serve any real purpose (nor was it any good) except creating a link to the next scene, which could be handled easily some other way.

Two things I feel during the viewing: one is that it feels like an long tv-show episode for some reason, which is not necessarily a bad thing. second is that the movie really slips into mediocrity about half way (begins with the soccer game) and becomes an romantic comedy, combined with the overall tv-show like quality, the second half of the movie is quite a disappointment. But the truth is that I found it is incredibly difficult for films like this to hit that right note of not being frustratingly non-progressing or not being too conventional.

Nonetheless, I am glad I picked this up randomly and would recommend it. By the way, if on screen nudity makes you uncomfortable, then this is not for you.
