Review of Cashback (2007) by Jason P — 24 Nov 2010
I thought the short film of the same name was well done and got right to the point. I have mixed feelings about the longer version. It was weird seeing scenes from the short film inserted here and there, almost made it feel like a short film with an hour of filler.
But once he and Fox's character got involved, it made the film more personal and interesting-- it went from an abstract idea to something more relatable, which always works better in a feature-length film.
The ending was quaint and typical, but overall it had that sweet, unpretentious indie film feel.
