Review of Cashback (2007) by Phil N — 21 Jan 2012
Ben is an art student with insomnia who takes a night shift job at Sainsburys. There he meets the lovely Sharon and the motley crew of staff who work nights, and Ben imagines he can pause time. A leisurely romantic comedy from Sean Ellis (The Broken) this has a few neat ideas but doesn't really go anywhere, although it does pick up the pace after a plodding introduction.
The five-a-side football match is the highlight for me in an otherwise predictable laddish tale.
