Review of Casablanca (1943) by Eshreen D — 08 Mar 2012
The movie was quite a romantic relief to that of today's romantic movies where actors are either too horny to distinguish between love and their libido or fall into a cliche pattern of "meet, love, heartbreak, and love again.
" Humphrey Bogart plays such a cynical and world-weary character that even those who avoid romantic movies will find entertainment in his personality. I mostly enjoyed the end where Rick avoids arrest after shooting Major Strasser courtesy of Captain Renault.
That scene itself and the pretty much the rest of the movie is symbolic to that of World War II.
