If you go in knowing Spanish I think you'll get a better appreciation for the movie. It would also help you appreciate Will Ferrels damn near flawless accent. Even without knowing Spanish the jokes about low budget movies are hilarious with some of them being plain to the eye and others for those paying close attention.
Great movie and something different for once.
