Review of Carrie (2013) by Eithan S — 27 Mar 2014
Carrie is a remake to the 1976 chilling horror movie based and is considered to be one of the best Stephen King adaptations ever made (I'm talking about the original, of course!). This newer version is not bad at all.
It's intense, fun, and has good special effects and acting. The problem is though, it has nothing that really stands out. It gets straight to the point, and when it ends, you don't feel any different.
The film tries to focus specifically on how Carrie is bullied and pushed to the limit, but it is made in a way that you don't really care. Also, the film is too predictable. Although the story has kind of become cult and well-known, not EVERYONE knows the story, so it would be better if they treated the prom scene as a big twist instead of letting you know what will happen beforehand.
Yes, these flaws aren't too major, but if you want to remake a legendary movie, make the remake legendary too! At the end though, I would still recommend watching Carrie because it is fun and very intense, and yes.
. The prom scene in this one is AWESOME!!!
