Review of Carol (2015) by Allison K — 15 Jun 2016
Carol is a film that tells an intriguing love story in a very quiet, understated manner. Blanchett and Mara have exquisite chemistry, and together they create a believable romance that is as tender as it is heart-wrenching.
The design and cinematography are expertly crafted, and the story flows very well. Not too much of it really is cerebral, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. Everything is subtle and delicate, and the movie could not have been done in any other way.
