I was so looking forward to seeing this film. I thought it would be a remarkable and tender love story. It was neither. Carol's character seemed to be far more emotionally involved and available to Abby, not Terese.
I kept waiting for the two main characters to have something in common, something meaningful, some form of true intimacy. It never happened. "Carol" was a disappointment and not a movie I would recommend.
The book was far more believable.
