Review of Carol (2015) by Jack T — 22 Nov 2015
Disappointing from start to finish. Without any inner life in the script, the love story is unevolved an uninvolving. Great production design is undercut by poor direction. Much of the film is hot like a T.V. show. Mara's character is particularly weakly written. No spark between the two leads brings an early demise to the melodrama despite a strong effort from Blanchett.
