Review of Carol (2015) by Aednat K — 08 Jan 2016
Todd Haynes has created another fascinating look at the 1950's. with all of it repression and secrets in the shadows. Cate Blanchett once again gives an Oscar worthy performance. And Rooney Mara could easily be nominated for Best Supporting Actress although she is also a lead actress in this movie.
Rooney reminded me very much a Audrey Hepburn in the later part of the film. Lush filming and expert direction could also win Todd Haynes a directorial nomination. This film is not for everyone. It deals with a difficult subject in a very beautiful way.
It is not for the closed minded.
