Review of Carol (1990) by Jono M — 14 Jan 2016
Carol didn't do it for me. First off, it was pretty boring. It didn't feel like too much of note actually happened throughout the entirety of the running time. Cate Blanchett played the titular character in a really cold way, which meant I never completed trusted or cared about her.
Kyle Chandler (who was the man as Coach T in Friday Night Lights) was wasted on a character that was only ever angry or on the brink of anger. Rooney Mara was quite good in the other main role, and Sarah Paulson was awesome as Carol's best friend from way back.
