Review of Carol (1990) by Farah R — 11 Oct 2016
Todd Haynes's drama is delightfully shot, acted, and scored. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful and very fitting for its 50s aesthetic. But Carol's triumph is in its leading ladies: Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara who delivered mesmerizing performances in this forlorn love story.
The Oscar buzz was undoubtedly justifiable despite the artificial ambiance of this motion picture.
