Review of Carnival of Souls (1962) by Lee C — 11 Jul 2009

I have one thing to say to you before you see this movie. WATCH THE TRAILER ON THE DVD BEFORE WATCHING THE MOVIE! The trailer will make you laugh your ass off! It says this movie is a biggggg step in movie making and that it's so scary that you can't refund your ticket it's so emotionally scarryy! (:

Herk Harvey is one scary son of a bitch! He is a pretty desent director and a damn good scary actor!

Candace Hilligoss is a fairly good actress and is beautiful in this role. She has a good emotional range for a scary movie. She is the only reason any of this feels even remotly creepy.

THE ENDING WILL FREAK YOU OUT AND CONFUSE YOU! But I put together some facts (i.e. the times no one sees her, and the weird 3-hour drowning) and make it make sense. I'm sorry if that ruined it but I'll make sure it doesn't.

For a low budget, local film that aired orginally in Drive-in's paired with another movie it sure came back with a vengence in the '80s sparking attetnion and a cult following. (:
