Review of Carnage (2011) by Tiffiny H — 06 Apr 2012
'Carnage' has two suburban couples meeting to amicably discuss an incident involving their children. Temperatures rise as the night progresses in this acid satire about social hypocrisy, based on a play and reminiscent of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf'.
Definitely a minor Polansky work, but those who like the theatre will enjoy a movie that is all about emotions, dialogue and performances. The cast is brilliant, and fans of Kate Winslet will be delighted, as she was cast in the most demanding role, giving us an opportunity to see her full range in this ever changing and often hilarious character.
