Review of Carnage (2011) by Lewis E — 08 Apr 2013
Based on a play where two couples' attempt to have a civilised conversation about a incident between their sons goes awry. It's actually enjoyable, managing to stay interesting in spite of being limited premise.
Sometimes this type of films work better since people are likely to have experienced them and can therefore relate. Accurately replicates an equivalent real life scenario; initial extreme emphasis placed on politeness before snide comments are made about the other couple's kid and then each person changing sides as new issues are brought to the surface as tempers escalate.
Haha Sums up middle/upper class adults in a heartbeat. Personally I found Christoph Waltz the most fun to watch but all of them suit their roles so it is likely which ever individual parent you find it easier to sympathise with will depend on the type of person you are.
Short running time and the little amount of concentration needed makes it an easy watch.
