Review of Carnage (2002) by Lilianetty L — 07 Apr 2012
I think this play should have stayed in theaters and not made into a movie. I remember watching a movie of two actors only last year and a play of one actor only (Cillian in MISTERMAN at NY), but it wasn't slow at all. It's like the books, when you see it the first time or read it, you get your mind impacted, but a second time in a new version that is not even created in your head...it's weird really. It's not a bad movie neither a good one, but I think that if I see the play now, I won't get lost and maybe I will understand many of the things I found a bit boring, maybe it was the acting.
Plot, Acting & Music: Since I started with the acting (will jump the plot, since I can't spoil anything, but a hint I can give...but won't do, unless you are informed of bullying), Jodie was incredible, same Christoph. John and Kate could have been better. This 4 actors are amazing no doubt, but I just split them because I felt I needed to. The extras could also do better (kidding!). About the music score, I felt that in the play music was needed....I dunno but at least on the movie the music was not there, at least what I heard was only in the start and then in the ending.
Enjoy this short review...3 stars of 5 only. Slow, some acting could have been better and the rythm of the action could be less slow too and the need of music is very important. HASTA LA PROXIMA AMIGOS/AS! BLESS YOU ALL!!! C'est tout!
