Review of Carnage (2002) by Faisal A — 09 Jan 2014
Good performances from all four of the principal actors (John C. Reilly was hillarious), but honestly, halfway through, it started to get too ridiculous and too over the top for me keep caring. I realize that the whole point of this film was that kids do move in, but adults, in their trying to work things out, end up behaving more immature than their own kids (or that deep down, adults are really just kids).
I was greatly reminded of "The Exterminating angels"; both films have very good ideas and premises but it really is about how each person interacts with what is going on. Maybe one day I will love both films, maybe I won't, but I still recommend people see this at least once for the performances alone.
