Ah Pacino... I remember when you would bother to turn in original performances. This was one of them. De Palma fills this film with his standard touches (Penelope Ann Miller semi naked for example) but curbs some of his more extreme tendencies.
Pacino is excellent, doesn't over act and refrains from rehashing his standard elements from Scent of a Woman. Sean Penn shows his acting chops and embarked on his character actor career around this time.
