Review of Carlito's Way (1993) by Greg D — 19 Nov 2009
The words "Screenplay by David Koepp" are never a good way to start a movie, and this one stayed true to form. Sean Penn's magnificently weaselly performance and DePalma's magical ability to ratchet up tension just barely manage to rescue this film from Koepp's excruciating dialogue and Pacino's "I just don't give a shit" non-attempt to play Hispanic.
