Review of Cargo (2009) by Luke B — 16 Sep 2010
Cargo is a fun watch despite its short comings. It manages to hit every single scifi space thriller cliche borrowing heavily from every major scifi movie of the past few decades. The CGI ranges from good to amateur yet still manages to be effective.
For the first homegrown Swiss space epic to ever be produced and considering it took 8 years and cosg only 2 million, this film is stellar. Compared to the big budget features out of Hollywood it is somewhat of a let down.
I can't wait to see what Ivan Engler and Ralph Etter can do with a bigger budget and with some better writing cause the telling of the story was near perfect even if it was something we've seen before.
