Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Elliot G — 31 Jan 2008
Among the most harrowing film experiences imaginable - an unflinchingly intimate examination of a nuclear family falling apart after TWO MEMBERS ARE ACCUSED OF REPEATEDLY RAPING YOUNG BOYS. Yeah. But don't pass up a chance to see it - it's an utterly compelling documentary, not least because, amid all the horror, it provides empirical evidence of the power of familial bonds to survive almost anything.
