Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Matt C — 21 May 2012
I don't really understand the point of this film. There seems to be a half hearted attempt to hint at some great miscarriage of justice somewhere along the line but sorry none of that adds up to much.
So what are you left with? A film about a paedophile and his accomplice son. Perhaps there was a film to be made about whether the son's story is actually a tragedy but it's not explored and is lost amidst countless frankly annoying scenes of his irritating brothers on home video.
