Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Sv G — 20 Nov 2008
Horrific and sad on multiple levels the story of a family that is dysfunctional for at least two generations and the hidden secrets of the father's pedophilia and if he had in fact molested (or not) students he had in his house as well as his brother when they were children and one of his own sons.
Clearly madess resides not only in the family that at first glance was the typical all American Jewish family - but also of the media and of the justice system. What to believe or not to believe is left up to the viewer.
This documentary presents the family and doesn't offer any clear cut resolutions.
