Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Sherif N — 15 Jan 2013
This documentary uses an original approach to the study of a subject through exclusive access to primary sources in the form of family home videos. It follows the story of a man and his young son who were accused of paedophiliac crimes.
The story is shocking and gripping, although occasionally the access to the primary sources is so appealing that it feels like everything else, the interviews and the narration, slows the flow and rhythm down.
