Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Todd S — 06 May 2004
There was a time when I thought documentaries were boring. I guess many still are but I seem to have stumbled upon quite a few lately that are absolutely outstanding, the last one being Capturing the Friedmans. This documentary is very much like Paradise Lost in that it follows seemingly normal people accused of terrible crimes. I vacilated between believing the main characters to be fairly innocent to being guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt. If you are a "true crimes" fan (which I am not) you would absolutely love this film. As it was, I was fascinated, saddened and bewildered from start to finish..
