Review of Captivity (2007) by Doctor S — 14 Feb 2009

All right, I admit it - I slowed down to look at the car accident. I'd heard such bad things - as in 'worst movie of the year' bad - that when it came on TV I had to sate my curiosity to see just HOW bad.

Well I'm here to tell you: REALLY bad. Logic, story & characters apparently have no place in this ineffective exercise in fear. The Law Of Shoddy 21st Century Thrillers dictates there must be a major character twist thrown in, and it's just as ridiculous and implausible as the rest of the contents of this movie that makes its inspiration 'Saw' seem like a masterwork by comparison.

I hope Elisa Cuthbert fired her agent immediately afterwards as her endurance and willingness earns an extra sympathy half-star. Move along, there's nothing to see here...
