Review of Captains Courageous (1937) by Allan C — 20 Jul 2012
Classic adventure film that I'd never seen before. Freddie Bartholomew is a spoiled pampered rich kid who falls overboard and is fished out by a lowly fishing ship, where he's put into his place and learns to be a decent human being.
Spencer Tracey has never been better as the fisherman who takes Bartholomew under his wing and makes him a much better person. A great script, direction, and performances make this film a true classic.
