Review of Captains Courageous (1937) by Steve G — 12 Mar 2014
A very strong premise. Not quite the payoff I wanted, however. The boat work drags on too long. Excellent direction from Fleming. Tracy & Bartholomew were fine, but there was a slight inauthenticity to it.
Definitely worth seeing, even if it's not as astounding as it had the potential to be. Powerful final act, salvages it, somewhat.
