Review of Captain Phillips (2013) by Luca B — 08 Feb 2015
Terrific film - which I knew nothing about until I saw it at a local cinema yesterday (7/2/15). It is incredibly tense and director Paul Geengrass has done a brilliant job. Hanks is superb as the eponymous Captain Roberts and Barkhad Abdi as Abduwali Muse deserves his BAFTA and then some.
The ting I really liked about it is that the Somali Pirates, while I don't agree with what they did, are three dimensional whereas the Navy SEALS and much of the US Navy come across as automatons.
Well worth seeing.
